### **Product Description**

Zhakimu: Goddess of Wealth

Zhakimu is an ancient and mystical figure widely regarded as a symbol of auspiciousness and protection.

As a guardian deity, her image symbolizes the power of safeguarding faith, protecting believers from evil and misfortune.

Representing a manifestation of the Dharma-protecting deities in Tibetan Buddhism, Zhakimu embodies the power and sanctuary of Buddhist teachings.

She also symbolizes courage and determination, reminding people to face difficulties bravely while strengthening their faith and resolve.

Tibetan women often wear Zhakimu pendants, believing the goddess symbolizes wealth, family protection, safety, health, and smooth life journeys.

Legend of Zhakimu:

The wealth deity of Zhaki Temple is named Zhakimu, believed to be an incarnation of Palden Lhamo, the guardian deity of Lhasa. According to legend, a Buddhist follower named Zhakimu traveled from inland to Lhasa with the abbot of Sera Monastery. Her unparalleled beauty provoked jealousy among local goddesses, who poisoned her and severed her feet. Through extraordinary power, Zhakimu expelled the toxins into her mouth and substituted her feet with chicken claws. Unable to destroy her completely, the goddesses eventually gave up. This legend explains why Zhakimu’s statue features wide-open eyes, a blackened face, a toxin-emitting tongue, and chicken claws in her hands.

Interestingly, Zhaki Temple was not originally established for wealth prayers but gained fame as outsiders came seeking safety—mostly merchants who eventually found wealth prayers effective. Gradually, it became a temple dedicated to the Goddess of Wealth.
